NAGAOKA PLACES IMAGE GALLERY
In this photograph (taken on August 2nd 2019) spectators sit along Nagaoka's Shinano river to watch the annual fireworks show. Every year for two nights, a fireworks show is held in the city of Nagaoka in commemoration of the fire bombing of Nagaoka city which occurred on August 1st 1945.

The ceramic pots seen in the photographs are pottery from the Middle "Jomon" period which is said to have been between 4,000 to 5,000 years ago, and were produced by hunter gatherers. Shards of ceramic pottery, figurines, ropes, tools and bones have been found scattered throughout Niigata prefecturere.
